My research starting point for this project was Instagram, a social media platform that people use in order to present themselves and communicate through visual media. Selfies and filters were the initial objects of my interest. I approached them in a social sciences informed way, trying to understand their purpose and accuracy of one's inner reality depiction. From these, I tried to devise multiple ways to interactively produce illustration products that could more accurately present one's own inner experience. Apart from an investigative artistic processes, this was also an attempt to provide a space for (self)reflection around artistic procedures, visual depictions and the experiential realities people dwell on in a digital sphere. I chose a group of ten people to whom I asked to think of colours, and to skectch 18 different emotional experiences in a way that they found relating. I took this material, illustrated and animated it and formed idiographic digital masks for each of them.
